I am resilient

I am the future

What would you give to hear a child that you love say:

“I am resilient.”

Because you want them to be able to handle anything life brings their way.

What’s the difference between an obstacle and a challenge?  The skills and confidence we bring to the situation.

Most of us learned how to cope from the “school of hard knocks.”  How many times have you said, “I wish I had learned how to—negotiate, collaborate, resolve conflicts–earlier?”

That’s the difference a summer can make.

Siyani Bell exemplifies the life-changing impact that Y programs can have ….

Whatever else they are doing, our campers learn and practice:

  • Reflecting on their experiences
  • Choosing their words and actions
  • How to work through problems
  • Effective ways to express themselves
  • Being part of a team
  • Listening!

Having these skills and habits can change the trajectory of the youth, the family, and our community.

Help a child put words to their feeling and need.

Gain skills and opportunities to connect and communicate with others.

Build self-confidence to navigate any challenge.

What would you give to see that all children in our community have that opportunity?

This summer more than ever, we need your support to help underserved youth learn resilience.
